With an emphasis on collaboration, we design bespoke residences that are site-specific and sensitive to the surrounding context. We eschew designing for a particular style and, instead, develop an aesthetic informed by the needs and wants of our clients.
House in the Woods
Deep River, CT
The stunning site overlooking the Connecticut River called for a unique approach. Drawing inspiration from local midcentury modern designs, a pavilion-like roof shelters both the interior and exterior entertaining spaces. The open kitchen, living, dining, and den areas are nestled into the steep slope on one side, while the other side opens up to the breathtaking view. Two bedroom wings extend towards the river like horse blinders, framing the view while blocking sightlines to any future development on neighboring properties.

house in the meadow
A client’s vision of a simple house, an antique barn, and a sprawling meadow informed the design of this shingled colonial. The home offers gracious entertaining spaces; as well as, cozy nooks for playing board games, reading a book, or scrolling Instagram. Situated on a gentile hill a stone’s throw from the Old Lyme Historic District, the design pays homage to the local vernacular aesthetic while satisfying the needs of a young family.
